How it works?
We are sure you are still asking why is all this free?  It's simple.  Based on the pre and post testing results, the electric delivery companies are purchasing the energy savings we have provided you.  As a result of these savings, the utilities do not have to invest millions in additional infrastructure like power plants and you reduce your utility bill in the process.  R&L Energy Technology nor the utility charges you for any work we perform for you.  IT'S FREE!!!

How do you sign up?

The only way to get on the list is to call 866-697-1582 or 281-484-1107 (within Houston).  We need to ask a few questions about your home to ensure it qualifies.  You will then be added to our list and we will call you in advance, when we are going to be in your area, to schedule an appointment.

*We do not share any information to any third party just the utility once work is complete*

Once you are scheduled

The day of your appointment a crew of two or three gentleman will arrive within the appointment window, in a white van with our company sign on each side.   Each crew member  will carry company identification.  With your permission, they will precede to do a walk through and perform diagnostic testing to assess your home.  After their assessment, they will perform all measures possible to make your home more energy efficient.

The crew will have a contract for you to sign giving them permission to begin the work and another signature is required when they have completed the work.  The contract states there is no charge to you.  It serves as proof, to the electric delivery company, that the work was completed.

Below is the diagnostic testing we do before and after our work.  (See Free Services we provide for what work we do to try to save you energy)

Home Tightness Test (Blower Door)
A Blower Door Test determines the air infiltration rate of air entering or leaving the building. There are several reasons for establishing the proper building tightness. An appropriately sealed home will:
• Reduce energy consumption due to air leakage
• Diminish potential condensation problems
• Avoid discomfort caused by air leaking in from the outside

Duct Efficiency Test (Duct Blower)
A Duct Efficiency Test is performed utilizing a Duct Blower. This device can accurately measure the tightness of the duct system. Duct leakage is directly related to energy waste. The EPA states, “Typical duct systems lose 25% to 40% of the heating and cooling energy put out by the central furnace, heat pump, or air conditioner”. See EPA publication (DOE/EEO109) for additional information. With the knowledge we have today, a properly sealed duct system should have no more than 10% leakage.

Utility may call to set up an appointment to inspect our work

The utility typically calls about 10% of the customers we do work for to ensure we are following the guidelines.  Other than that we have completed your energy efficiency upgrade and we hope you will notice a reduction in your utility bill and increased comfort in your home.
