INFILTRATION & DUCT MEASURE REQUIREMENTS

  • PREFER HOMES THAT ARE ALL ELECTRIC (NO GAS BILL)

 

  • HOME MUST HAVE NO WINDOW UNITS

 

  • HOME MUST HAVE CENTRAL AIR AND WORKING A/C & HEAT

 

  • HOME CANNOT BE ENERGY STAR (some homes built after 2001 can be)

 

  • NO TYPE OF REMODEL IN PROGRESS

 

  • IF INCOME REQUIREMENT MET, YOU MAY RECEIVE ENERGY SAVING LIGHT BULBS

 

  • IF INCOME REQUIREMENT MET AND HOT WATER HEATER IS ELECTRIC, YOU MAY RECEIVE WATER SAVING SHOWERHEADS

 

CEILING INSULATION MEASURE REQUIREMENTS

  • PREFER HOMES THAT ARE ALL ELECTRIC (NO GAS BILL)

 

  • MUST MEET INCOME REQUIREMENT

 

  • MUST HAVE 1 INCH OR LESS OF EXISTING INSULATION

 

  • HOME MUST BE IN GOOD REPAIR-NO ROOF LEAKS, WEAK CEILINGS

 

  • ATTIC MUST BE CLEAR OF ANY STORAGE ITEMS

 

  • NO TYPE OF REMODEL IN PROGRESS
     
     
    COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHTS & LOW-FLOW SHOWERHEADS

     

    In order to qualify for the energy saving lightbulbs and water saving showerheads, we have to pass at least one major measure (infiltration, duct or ceiling insulation) AND the income requirement has to be met.  Additionally, the water heater must be electric to install the water saving showerheads.

     
    *Lightbulbs and showerheads require that the household earn less than a certain amount or the homeowner receive some sort of benefit like Medicare or Food stamps.  Eligibility is determined when you call to sign up.  The lightbulbs are installed when the crew comes to your home and a major measure is passed, and you have signed the income verification form qualifying you for the lightbulbs. 

     

    Texas New Mexico Power does not offer lightbulbs or showerheads under their program even if the income requirement is met.

     


                          

                        PLEASE NOTE: IT IS OUR SOLE DISCRETION TO SCHEDULE HOMES BASED ON THE FACTORS LISTED ABOVE AND ANY OTHER FACTORS THAT MAY ARISE. THE HOMEOWNER IS NOT CHARGED FOR ANY WORK, BUT MAY HAVE AN INSPECTOR FROM THE UTILITY CONTACT THEM TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO INSPECT OUR WORK. ABOUT 10% OF OUR WORK IS INSPECTED BY THE UTILITIES.

    WE ARE BOUND BY GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY THE UTILITY. WE ALSO HAVE OUR OWN GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO KEEP THE PROGRAM COST EFFECTIVE AND FREE TO THE HOMEOWNER. THE UTILITIES CAN CHANGE THEIR GUIDELINES AT ANY TIME FOR COST EFFECTIVENESS AND OUR GUIDELINES MAY ALSO CHANGE AS WE CONTINULLY EVALUATE THE COST EFFECTIVENESS IN KEEPING THESE PROGRAMS FREE.
